Ingredients
  

Pasta
  • 1 pound pasta penne, rotini, or your favorite
Chicken
  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts cut into bite-sized pieces
Other
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 24 ounce marinara sauce 1 jar
  • 8 ounce fresh mozzarella cheese cut into cubes
  • 0.25 cup chopped fresh basil optional

Method
 

  1. Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Season chicken with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  4. Add chicken to the skillet and cook until browned (5-7 minutes).
  5. Stir in marinara sauce and bring to a simmer.
  6. Add cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat.
  7. Stir in mozzarella cheese until melted and gooey.
  8. Garnish with fresh basil (if using) and serve immediately.

Notes

For a spicier dish, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the marinara sauce.
