Ingredients
  

Bananas
  • 3 pieces ripe bananas, mashed
Dates
  • 1 cup pitted dates, chopped
Butter
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
Baking Soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
Salt
  • Pinch salt
Sugar
  • 3/4 cup sugar
Egg
  • 1 large beaten egg
Vanilla Extract
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Flour
  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. Mix mashed bananas and melted butter.
  3. Add baking soda, salt, sugar, egg, and vanilla; mix well.
  4. Stir in flour until just combined, then fold in chopped dates.
  5. Pour batter into pan and bake for 55-60 minutes; cool before slicing.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a handful of chopped nuts or chocolate chips.
