Ingredients
  

Wet Ingredients
  • 3 pieces ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Dry Ingredients
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
Optional Add-ins
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts optional
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips optional

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. Mix mashed bananas, applesauce, honey, and vanilla until combined.
  3. Combine dry ingredients in a separate bowl.
  4. Gradually add dry to wet, mixing until just combined. Fold in nuts and chocolate chips if using.
  5. Pour batter into pan, bake 50-60 minutes, cool before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a dash of nutmeg or cloves.
